Our Opportunity:

The Treasury Capital Stress Testing (TCST) group manages activities in support of the Company’s capital planning and stress testing for CSC and its subsidiaries. The TCST model development workstream is responsible for building models for the Finance department that would be used during the TCST process and other applications. This role would focus on developing and maintaining models, and supporting the lead model developer.

TCST model development seeks a dynamic senior manager to develop statistical models and maintain developed models. The successful candidate will take direction from the lead model developer, work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to understand the portfolio exposures, develop model documentation, and manage internal/MRM deadlines and expectations. 

What you’ll do:

  • Perform sophisticated statistical analysis and variable selection using SAS, R, EViews.
  • Prepare model defense and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Maintain and automate the existing models for the CST production run.
  • Work with Treasury team and external departments to develop an understanding of the portfolio exposure.
  • Ensure MRM submissions meet requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the periodic model assumptions refresh and performance monitoring reports.
  • Develop and update model documentation for new and existing models.
  • Be responsible for the remediation and closure of any model findings.
  • Support the lead model developer. 

What you have:

  • PhD in statistics or econometrics; MBA in finance or MS in applied mathematics would be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills and extensive knowledge of modeling tools such as SAS, EViews, MATLAB, C, VBA and R.
  • Experience working for a financial institution.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, or relevant course work, in financial and economic analysis performing advanced statistical modeling.
  • Knowledge of the purpose and role of model risk management with respect to analytical models.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop production quality statistical models and good documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with standard IT software development, production and maintenance methodologies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, maintain and query complex data structures using a variety of database platforms including, but not limited to, SQL-Server and ACCESS.
  • Strong written communication skills including the ability to evaluate the usefulness of data and use it in meaningful interpretation.
  • Self-motivated and able to bring projects and reporting to conclusion.
