Schwab is recruiting to hire a results-oriented technology leader with a strong track record of technology-enabled business delivery, and building and developing high performing teams. Our main goal here at Schwab is to transform people’s lives by changing the way the world invests. The Brokerage Accounting and Trading Technology (BATT) group provides trading business capabilities Schwab’s retail and institutional businesses by developing innovative, unique-in-class investment products, and are looking for a Managing Director who will excel in leading a dynamic team, in a fast-paced
and agile environment. We are in the process of rapidly modernizing our trading infrastructure and looking for a change agent who will thrive in influencing, challenging the status quo collaborating and leading the teams in meeting our technology driven business objectives. 
 

What you’ll do:

  • The primary responsibility of the Managing Director is to be the single point of accountability with business partners for a portfolio of trading applications that are focused on delivering value for our Retail and Institutional business.
  • This role includes leading managers and individual contributors to deliver on both Project and maintenance work.
  • This individual will lead direct and virtual teams, including Architects, application developers, technical analysts, QA, Scrum Masters, program management, as well as cross enterprise Managers.
  • This individual must have strong organizational and people leadership capabilities to lead Agile-oriented Product Development teams.

What you have:

  • The ability to understand and align with business goals, and communicate to senior business leadership is an essential component of the role.
  • Candidates should have a passion for emerging technologies and be capable of influencing and inspiring the team in developing innovative solutions that meet the business needs.
  • 5+ years of experience in a MD leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience leading virtual teams
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading a team
