Schwab Retirement Plan Services, Inc. Within SRPS, the Plan Administration team is responsible ensuring timely and accurate servicing for 1000+ plan sponsor clients and 1.3 million participants.  The Document Services team is responsible for administering qualified defined contribution plans, providing document and consulting services for plans converting to SRPS and maintaining documents for clients who utilize an SRPS prepared pre-approved plan document. 

What you’ll do: 

The Team Manager of Document Services will be a member of the Plan Administration leadership team and contribute in formulating the strategy and vision for Schwab’s Document Services team.  In this role they deliver on a set of initiatives to improve the client experience and/or improve operational efficiency, reduce risk to the organization, and maintain on-going service levels to plan sponsors and participants. 

Specifically, the Team Manager of Document Services will lead a team of 6-8 document specialists in Richfield, OH, Phoenix, AZ and/or Austin, TX.  The team is responsible for qualification of QDROs, maintaining hardcopy and electronic legal files and providing ongoing maintenance of pre-approved plan documents to comply with regulatory requirements and client specific business needs.

In this role, the individual will:

  • Mentor individual contributors and work with other department leaders to promote professional development
  • Represent Document Services on cross-enterprise initiatives
  • Create and sustain an environment that provides near-perfect service to our clients
  • Establish and deliver on goals for process improvement
  • Identify opportunities, recommend strategies, and design initiatives to improve client experience, business results, and profitability
  • Create and support metrics that document performance on our key objectives
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to understand the needs of our clients and offer administrative solutions that meet the needs of clients as well as work for Schwab from an efficiency and risk mitigation perspective
  • Coordinate with client experience leadership to ensure we are designing new and creative solutions to exceed client expectations 

What you have:

This candidate needs 6+ years’ experience, preferably in the retirement plan services industry with an emphasis on plan document drafting, Services Agreement Amendment preparation, QDRO qualification and process improvement. 

The candidate must possess the following capabilities:

  • Proven leadership ability to lead teams to accomplish significant objectives
