Our Opportunity:

Charles Schwab’s Security & Technology Operations organization is seeking a Security Operations (SecOps) Threat Intelligence Analyst. You will be responsible for threat research, analysis, correlation and develop of original intelligence to enable predictive and actionable reporting. Additionally you will contribute to collaborative incident response, continuous process improvement and drive automation. You will support managing projects to identify new solutions to improve the SOC’s threat identification, detection, and response capabilities. Finally, you provide support and assists in the training of junior security staff to increase their understanding of complex security analysis methodologies and issues. 

What you’ll do:

  • Perform IT Threat Intelligence gathering, analysis, and dissemination / reporting
  • Compile cyber threat data gathered through independent research and analysis along with SOC activity, and look at emerging technology, techniques and adversarial capabilities and tactics
  • Provide intelligence support to SOC and incident response (IR) teams in advance of and during cybersecurity incidents
  • Assess impact of security events based on knowledge and tools available and then provide security focused recommendations based off of intelligence findings
  • Clearly document/communicate processes and findings to both technical and executive audiences
  • Perform content development with SIEM and/or other security control systems
  • Identify vulnerabilities to the business’ processes and develop metrics which directly relate to their management and remediation
  • Support security reviews/vulnerability risk assessments of network environments
  • Establish close relationships with business stakeholders outside of the security and compliance disciplines, working closely with physical security, fraud, legal, and senior leadership
  • As need perform reverse-engineering and malware analysis
  • Demonstrable experience in scripting/programing in one or more of the following languages (Python, Perl, shell
  • In-depth expertise in network monitoring/configuration/management solutions, network architecture, network security, network traffic and payload analysis
  • Assist in supporting, mentoring, and development of other analysts
  • Need someone who is forward thinking, has strong presentation skills and solid teamwork skills

What you have:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Information Security
  • Strong research background and an analytical approach, especially with respect to event classification, event correlation, and root cause analysis
  • Analytical security certification or demonstrable equilivent experience required
  • Strong background in query development for SIEM/IDS
  • Strong network security architecture / controls background
