Our Opportunity:

In Compliance, we help our Business Partners achieve their strategic priorities by promoting principles and practices that build client trust and safeguard the integrity of the Firm. We accomplish this through providing advice and guidance to our business partners regarding the applicability of rules and regulations; advice on policies, procedures and controls; reviewing advertising and communications with the public; and employing a variety of surveillance technologies and analytics.

 

What you’ll do:

The Compliance Surveillance & Technology Analytics Group currently has a Senior Consultant level position available that will be based in Chicago. The Senior Consultant will leverage his or her knowledge of data mining and visualization to support and enhance the Team’s current data mining capabilities.  Within the position you will work closely with team members to effectively mine data and design visualizations for:

  • Implementing new reporting processes and metrics for partners across Compliance including partners in Testing and Risk Assessments.
  • Creating and developing ad-hoc and production data pulls, reports, reviews, and summaries
  • Partnering with data owners and administrators to access, assess and understand data availability and,  when necessary, develop pathways to integrate data into existing  department data-marts
  • Providing subject matter expertise to Compliance on expected data behaviors, trends and patterns, as well as the meaning of  data fields and values

 

What you have:

Required skills and experience

  • 3+ years of experience in data mining or statistical analysis.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Data Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
  • Expertise in Tableau, Business Objects, Tibco Spotfire or other data visualization tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with team members as well as business partners across the organization
  • Self-motivated; willingness to learn additional skills and gain expertise in a wide variety of Compliance areas

Preferred skills and experience

  • Additional expertise or working knowledge of Teradata, R, VBA, Python, or comparable
