Our Opportunity:

Do you want to be part of a team carving a path to the next generation of cybersecurity metrics & measurements for a leading financial firm with $3 Trillion in assets under management? As a member of the team, you will be immersed in a collaborative, innovative, and technically challenging environment. As a Technical Director you will work closely with partners to understand the data and cybersecurity challenges to propose new or enhanced service offerings to bolster metrics driven decision making. You will be required to quickly learn Schwab’s business model, business vision and the associated analytical/reporting requirements. A successful candidate will be curious about the business, cybersecurity and the data that enables it. A successful candidate will also be passionate about providing outstanding database solutions while fostering a teaming spirit.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist management with the development and documentation of the metrics & measurements program
  • Aid in development and socialization of a strategic roadmap(s) and program plan within the context of industry trends, define critical needs, pain points and business impact and socialize findings with key stakeholders and executives
  • Strive to ensure continuous alignment of roadmap and program to consumer needs
  • Assist with the development and delivery of executive service reviews by crafting presentation materials and providing expert opinions during meetings
  • Support the implementation process for any new and/or enhanced service offering(s)
  • Prioritize future initiatives based on feasibility, industry trends, regulatory, technical and financial impact
  • Aid in establishing service and operating level agreements for the program
  • Ensure awareness training is provided to newly on boarded executives
  • Ensure ongoing consumer satisfaction and continued achievement of defined goals and objectives are met
  • Obtain consumer feedback on program performance and satisfaction of service offering; manage the process for prioritizing future enhancements and ongoing program improvements
  • Participate in industry-related forums and training activities to stay current with industry trends; includes researching & analyzing trends and industry benchmarking
  • Proactively identify areas requiring attention or strengthening and work collaboratively with other disciplines to implement improvements in line with corporate standards, applicable regulations, and/or best practice frameworks
  • Support employee engagement by advancing teamwork, transparency, and accountability by acting a role model

What you have:

  • Bachelor degree or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of cybersecurity experience
  • Mature understanding of cybersecurity metrics & measurements “best practices”
  • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic
  • Ability to gather information from multiple sources (internal, primary and secondary research) and synthesize them to uncover trends that draw out relevant actions
  • Be able to conceptualize solutions that leverage current technologies through the understanding of industry trends, internal business drivers and consumer needs
  • Ability to translate needs and business imperatives into a vision and roadmap for use in setting priorities and guiding the work
  • Ability to think and act creatively by stepping outside standard convention and identify potential “out of the box” solutions
  • Possess the ability to maintain focus and drive results in all business cycles and environments. Demonstrate adaptability when projects need to deviate from original plans or shift direction based on changing needs and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data issues in non-technical terminology

  • Strong critical thinking skills; ability to quickly comprehend problems, develop hypotheses, draw logical conclusions, develop solutions and gain buy in
  • Proven history of being a self-starter by proactively identifying problems, determining pragmatic solutions, identifying and obtaining needed resources, and executing with little or no supervision
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, coupled with a desire to take on responsibilities that result in solutions oriented
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple, competing, high-priority projects with varying deadlines
  • Experience interfacing with various partners, including executive leadership, vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups with varying degrees of cybersecurity knowledge
  • Advanced Cybersecurity certification (CISSP, CTPRP or equivalent) is preferred, but CISM, CEH, or similar certifications are also useful
  • Certification(s) in Data Science, Business Intelligence, and/or Data Management & Analytics is a plus
  • Prior exposure to the financial industry will set you apart 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Word and Visio Drawing tool along with general familiarity with Outlook and other MS Office applications is also required
