Our Opportunity:

Our team is seeking an energetic person to perform the role of Senior Information Systems Engineer – Contingent Technology Engineer, responsible for the ownership in areas such as Offshore Partners (Infosys, Mphasis & Wipro located in India); International Contingent contractors, Domestic Nearshoring and External US based contracted and Contingent / Professional services.  In this role, this person will own/define process, policy & procedures for our customers, which are necessary to meet their business requirements.

 

What you’ll do:

Senior Information Systems Contingent Technology Engineer with at least 7 to 9 years’ experience in Infrastructure Engineer for our External customers (International and Domestic) in providing solutions whereas the customer will be able to interface with Schwab’s internal infrastructure.  Skills required in this role are as (a minimum) Project Management, Strong Communications Skills, Remote Access Engineering, VMware Infrastructure (or other Virtualization technologies), Windows systems administration, networking knowledge (VPN, WAN, technology vendor solutions such as Aruba devices), and the ability to work with multiple Contingent technology personnel in order to define requirements, provide solution’s, ensure supportability on customer facing production and/or development infrastructures. They will also need to will define process, policy & procedures for our customers.  In this role – the Senior Contingent Technology Engineer will be on point (take ownership) to work/ facilitate with our Offshore Partners (Infosys, Mphasis & Wipro Approximately 3,900 employees); International Contingent contractors, Domestic Nearshoring and External US based contracted and Contingent / Professional services in order to ensure compliance with Internal Risk management and Schwab Technology Security (STS Security) organizations on standards for connectivity and infrastructure management.  They are also the focal point on other impacted organizations, to include: VMware Engineering (VIE), Network Engineering, Access Management, STS Security, Capacity Management, Centralized Vendor Management (CVM), and Information Security Risk Management (ISRM).  

 

What you have:

  • Experience      be in VMware vSphere Administration (ESX 3/4/5)
  • Experience with VMware      View –most current versions (Linked Clones, Floating/Persistent Pools)
  • Experience with VMware      vCenter Operations Manager
  • Experience with VMware      Site Recovery Manager
  • Experience      with Wire Shark, HTTP Watch, Fiddler (Detailed trouble shooting experience      required)
  • Detailed      trouble shooting experience required – additionally Lakeside Systrack      Experience and/or tools such as Wire Shark, HTTP Watch, and Fiddler are a      plus
  • Experienced      in Capacity Planning, Requirement gathering & customized solutions is      a must
  • Experience with Business      analysis, requirements gathering, process mechanics
  • Strong Communication and      presentation skills in order to ensure Senior Management is kept current      on the multiple infrastructures we manage
  • Understanding      of Desktop as a Service (DaaS)
  • Experience      with compute, network and storage performance measurement and analysis
  • Experience      in a multiple domain environment (CS, CSDevEx, CSHosted, CSDev, PDV &      e-Tell)
  • Experience      with GPO’s (Computer\User) and Proxy setting and their impact based on      security requirements
  • Experienced with DNS\DHCP
  • Experience      with International customers is strongly preferred
  • Experience with      Microsoft SCCM  (software      distribution, impacts to VDI environment)
  • Must be able to manage      multiple project’s / technologies /security risks simultaneously
  • Experience with Windows      Server and Desktop operating system expertise
  • Experience with large /      distributed environments
  • Experience with      Lifecycle management
  • Experience with Business      Continuity / Disaster Recovery Planning
  • Experience with Data      Center Optimization / Centralization
  • Demonstrated experience      in presenting solutions to Senior Management  (Solid documentation, interpersonal      skills, technology presentations, Business Process)
  • Understanding      of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Understanding and experience with Anti-Virus and VDI
  • Understanding of networking protocols (PCoIP, RDP,      TCP, UDP, IP, ICA & Blast)
  • Understanding of network subnets/VLans and VSphere      Distributed Switch’s
  • Understanding      of networking WAN bandwidth and performance capacity
  • Understanding of       Citrix Environment
  • Understanding of Remote      Access Environment
  • Understanding of WebEx      technology and Video Conference to include performance / Security
  • Extensive Technical team      lead experience – enterprise impact
  • Technical background in      OS Image Optimization
  • End-user experience –      performance and functionality
  • Strong      understanding of shared Compute, Network and Storage resources for      capacity and  performance
  • Base      understanding of SAN technologies (FC, FCOE, iSCSI, NFS, Determining LUN      sizes/layout based on IOPS requirements)
