Our Opportunity:

Cost Basis Operations (CBO) provides premium cost basis researching, updating and reporting services for all client segments, and as such works in close partnership with Advisor Services Client Reporting, Tax Reporting, Client Reporting Services, among others. CBO is the business owner for SPARKS (Schwab Portfolio Accounting and Record Keeping System) and is responsible for cost basis data quality. 

What you’ll do:

The Team Manager/Sr. Team Manager in Cost Basis Operations will lead a team responsible for providing accurate and timely cost basis reporting services to all Schwab clients and the IRS. Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Lead team responsible for updating cost basis for incoming and outgoing transfers using proprietary software programs in accordance with Internal Revenue Service regulations
  • Work with vendors to ensure service levels and quality standards for offshore processing are met
  • Work with Technology teams to restructure core processes to achieve productivity objectives while improving the client/rep experience
  • Partner with service teams to provide support on client escalations
  • Collaborate with financial institutions and DTCC to identify best practices and improve overall CBRS experience across the Industry
  • Champion and engage your team and business partners to support Operational strategies
  • Could be filled at a Sr. Team Manager or Team Manager, depending on experience

 What you have:

  • Previous supervisory experience required for Team Manager
  • 5+ supervisory experience required for Sr. Team Manager
  • Series 7 & 63 licenses preferred
  • Series 9 & 10 licenses preferred for Sr. Team Manager
  • Experience leading teams
  • Strong communication, influencing, and relationship skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Tax Reporting and Cost Basis
  • Experience with tax form and statement validation
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail, time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Change management experience
  • Ability to work with remote teams
  • Ability to work under intensive deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
