Our Opportunity:

The Trust Services Product Manager provides service and support to the Schwab trust services products: Administrative Trustee Services, Trust Outsourcing, Personal Trust Reporting Services and Sub-Custody.  As a member of the trust product management team, the Trust Services Product Manager oversees all aspects of the trust products.  The Trust Services Product Manager helps ensure that the products are exceeding the needs of Schwab’s personal trust clients.

The trust product management team is seeking a professional with a background in personal trust accounting, trust administration and trust reporting to coordinate or assist with Project Management, Conversions, Systems Support, Business Analysis, Requirements Writing, User Acceptance Testing, Product Documentation, Communications, Interface File Management, Vendor Relationship Management, Tax Reporting, Client Reporting, and SQL Report Writing.

What you’ll do:

  • Acting as primary subject matter expert for Schwab’s personal trust products for both internal and external clients
  • Writing business requirements documents and testing enhancements
  • Managing vendor interface files
  • Analyzing cost basis and transactional tax coding to ensure correct cost and tax data in trust accounting system
  • Validating trust accounting system conformity with UPAIA rules
  • Providing second tier service support for product questions
  • Identifying ways to improve systems, processes, and procedures, often in a limited budget environment
  • Writing SQL queries to extract data from trust accounting system
  • Researching and resolving issues reported to product and support team
  • Converting clients on/off trust products
  • Managing trust conversion projects
  • Writing and delivering trust system training presentations
  • Working both independently and in team environment to achieve product goals
  • Traveling on an infrequent basis

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably finance or accounting
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, including background in trust accounting processing and systems support
  • Experience with trust tax reporting
  • Expertise in trust accounting and UPAIA
  • Experience with Trust back office processing, especially with knowledge of corporate action processing, cash processing, tax processing, statement creation, fee processing and daily system reconciliation
  • Experience with industry interfaces, including trading, performance systems, portfolio management, check creation, and general file movement processing
  • Microsoft SQL Server query skills highly desired
  • Experience with systems and/or data conversions desired
  • CTFA or CSOP designations desired
  • Experience with OneSource tax bridge highly desired
  • Experience with InnoTrust trust accounting system highly desired
  • Strong orientation to clients, including ability to understand needs and apply this knowledge to supplying solutions that will create a positive client experience
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the issue or business
  • Good business judgment, including ability to evaluate and address risks
