VP Financial Consultant - National Branch

As a Schwab Financial Consultant, you’ll need an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for building a growing practice focused on client needs. What you’ll do:

The Financial Consultant position is part of our Branch Network, which is responsible for providing wealth management and financial planning advice to individuals and families. Managing wealth on behalf of our clients may include: retirement planning, education planning, investment management, and estate planning, as well as partnering with specialists to offer banking, insurance, and lending solutions. In this capacity, the Financial Consultant is responsible for providing an exceptional investor experience for clients with more than $250,000 in assets. Financial Consultants also focus on developing referrals as well as increasing net asset flow and offering advised solutions. 

 

Investment Consultant - (IDT) 

The purpose of Schwab Acquisition Delivery is to bring new clients to the firm and to deepen the relationship with existing clients. This team’s focus is to ensure that every client experiences the very best Schwab has to offer.  The Acquisition Team focuses on retail prospects and client lead opportunities through outbound and inbound interactions with the goal of establishing a new client relationship.

What you’ll do:

The Investment Consultant proactively works with potential clients to address their financial needs and to help them achieve financial fitness.  The consultant engages prospects in needs-based dialogue to gain a thorough understanding of their needs and to position the appropriate Schwab products and services. The consultant reaches out to prospects primarily through outbound calling but also communicates with clients via inbound calls, emails, faxes and hard copy correspondence. 

The consultant balances multiple priorities and focuses on touching as many prospects as possible with the highest quality as possible.  Consultants will follow up on lead opportunities created by internal partners, the Schwab website and outbound calling campaigns in order to convert prospects into clients, consolidate assets, open new accounts and increase client engagement by proposing appropriate products and services.

New Client Concierge - (NCC)

What you’ll do:

The New Client Concierge (NCC) Investment Consultant proactively works with new and prospective, clients to ensure a seamless welcome process and create a true sense of partnership, ownership and appreciation as the client begins their relationship with Schwab. The consultant engages new clients, over the course of multiple conversations, in needs-based dialogue to gain a thorough understanding of client needs to ultimately cultivate the relationship to increase client engagement and consolidate client assets.  The consultant reaches out to new clients primarily through outbound calling, but also communicates with new clients via inbound calls, emails, faxes and hard copy correspondence. Consultants will follow up on new client lead opportunities.

Strong Partnerships with the Branch FCs, Active Trader Sales, and other client facing teams at Schwab is critical to seamlessly transition new clients and prospective clients to these relationships. 

Engaging new clients/prospects in high quality needs based conversations is a key component of Schwab’s business strategy.  The Investment Consultant will pursue this mission through: 

  • Utilize a planning-based approach to effectively assess client needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and where applicable, position the FC for more complex or comprehensive advice solutions.
  • Discuss investment solutions and services that are suitable for new clients based on their needs and preferences.
  • Proactive outreach to prospective & new clients with the goal of building relationships, providing solutions and consolidating assets to Schwab.
  • Work closely with FC partners to ensure that practice eligible clients are promptly, seamlessly and appropriately referred to an FC.
  • Provide an exceptional client experience that builds client loyalty, and results in additional asset consolidation and referrals.
  • Build client loyalty and grow our business through behaviors and business results that are commensurate with your tenure and experience.
  • Demonstrate a high level of productivity, quality of conversation and professional behaviors in order to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of business activities and professional dealings and to avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

The Virtual Financial Consultant works collaboratively as a team to proactively grow an affluent wealth management practice and work with clients virtually using innovative  technology tools to determine appropriate service and solution strategies to deepen relationships..  The Virtual Financial Consultants will develop and execute on a business plan to generate new clients. They will proactively generate prospects through partnerships and relationship development. The Virtual Financial Consultants help the firm grow and are responsible for providing planning based wealth management for affluent clients.  Virtual Financial Consultants also focus on developing referrals as well as increasing net asset flow and offering advised solutions.

  • Are part of a team of experts who provide guidance to clients over the phone and/or video conference.

 Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to support existing client’s, while prospecting to build new relationships
  • Utilize virtual communication tools to practice consultative planning based wealth management approach to best assess and find appropriate solutions to meet client’s needs. 
  • Leverage expertise and knowledge of the securities industry and markets to analyze and interpret client’s investment objectives and provide investment advice suited to meet their needs.
  • Increase brand awareness by prospecting, soliciting referrals and leveraging relationships with centers of influence.
  • Execute a consistent client relationship management process that delights clients, drives referrals, and retains clients at Schwab for life.
  • Engage with clients to inspire a level of trust that increases retention, client promoter scores and positive feedback
  • Leverage existing relationship resources (i.e. planning tools, etc.) to deepen and retain client relationships.
