Our Opportunity:

The Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) an individual contributor will serve as a trusted and collaborative advisor providing proactive, practical and valued HR thought partnership and consultation to leadership within Compliance & Legal Services, Corporate Risk Management, and Internal Audit while ensuring alignment with Schwab’s corporate culture and business initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver high quality, proactive HR consultation that enables the attainment of strategic business goals and critical initiatives in light of business growth objectives.
  • Diagnose, translate, and define current and future business needs into an overall integrated strategic HR plan for the function.
  • Influence and guide all levels of leaders on the HR implications of business priorities and on all aspects of people management and leadership.
  • Support talent assessment and succession planning for business groups by working with leaders to assess organization capabilities, identify competency and talent gaps, and support the development of leaders.
  • As a member of business senior leadership teams, partner with leaders on driving change through strategic plans and objectives across organizations.
  • Drive programs and processes and that optimize the contributions and engagement level of employees.
  • Provide organizational development interventions, leadership transition support, and enhance communication processes and reward/recognition programs.
  • Initiate and maintain effective communications with leadership and employees; provide coaching and guidance on matters related to performance management, and offer feedback on style and behaviors to improve employee      productivity and engagement.
  • Ensure and maintain the alignment of all corporate HR initiatives and programs; implement and deliver HR programs within the business.

What you have:

  • 10 + years in overall Human Resources Management operating as an HR Business Partner in a mid-size to large organization. Experience in financial services is a plus.
  • Strong influencing skills with people and teams with experience operating successfully in a complex matrix organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to impact organizational effectiveness and excel on high performing teams capable of delivering strategic results.
  • Ability to use workforce analytics - data and reporting - to drive strategic decisions.
  • A proven track record of developing organizational change initiatives that deliver real business results.
  • Demonstrated strong business knowledge and capability to assess HR implications of business priorities.
  • Strong executive presence and exceptional interpersonal, relationship building, and change management skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic and systems thinking with operational implementation.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as dictated by business needs.
  • Persuasive Communication: The ability to plan and deliver oral and written communications that are impactful and persuasive with their intended audiences.
  • Influencing Others: The ability to gain others’ support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions.
