Our Opportunity:

The Advisor Services Production Support group is responsible for providing timely, knowledgeable, friendly enterprise-class support for a suite of products and services provided to Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). The platforms we support are essential to the success of the investment advisor and offer features such as client relationship management, portfolio accounting, trading, data integration, reporting and much more.

What you’ll do:

This is a Tier 2 application development position that requires a broad range of development capabilities and technological breadth, including production support responsibilities adhering to the disciplines of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). This position will actively contribute to a development production support team.The team is responsible for investigating and providing solutions for issues experienced by the latest Schwab applications. The application suite is a broad complex suite across a variety of technologies (.NET, C#, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular, REST, MS SQL, MongoDB, etc.) that require a motivated full stack developer with outstanding investigation, debugging, and programming skills. The position will be a combination of working with mainline developers to inherit application details for support, investigating and resolving production issues, enhancing product stability and developing playbook documentation for Tier 1 support. The candidate should possess excellent leadership and multitasking skills. This is a very dynamic environment and will require juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate should have strong object oriented design and programming skills using Windows .NET, C#,  REST or SOAP Services, Web APIs, HTML5, JavaScript, and experience implementing object oriented solutions for web based deployment. This role will require strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to provide detailed root cause analysis, resolution options, and recommendation of long term improvements to avoid issues in the future.

What you have:

Technical

  • 6-8 years of experience successfully developing applications for Windows platforms using Microsoft technologies
  • 6-8 years in-depth technical background designing and implementing enterprise level infrastructure solutions that align with organization and corporate objectives
  • 6-8 years developing with C#, .Net, HTML5, JavaScript
  • 4+ years developing services – preferably REST services
  • 4+ years programming to MS SQL and Oracle databases
  • Experience working with big data platforms running on Linux servers
  • Excellent debugging skills across a variety of integrated platforms
  • Very strong object oriented design skills with proven track record of well-engineered design
  • Experience with unit testing and history of successful interaction with a QA group
  • Experience developing hosted client server applications
  • Experience working with Agile development teams as operational liaison
  • Experience with implementation and configuration of AppDynamics
  • Experience working with dashboard / environment health display tooling (Tableau, Keynote, SPLUNK, Zenoss)
  • Experience leveraging tools to instrument and automate proactive and eventually predictive availability solutions
  • Experience with Atlassian software stack
  • Experience transitioning platforms to cloud-ready
  • BS or MS in computer science or related technical field
