Our Opportunity:

The Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) team sets and monitors the implementation of risk based policies and enhances the firm’s IT control environment.

As a Managing Director, Information Security Risk Managment (ISRM) Program Office, you will demonstrate a combination of program management, technical and relationship management expertise in Risk and IT.  You will report directly to the SVP, Technology Risk Officer, helping manage the Department’s regulatory and risk management related initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with designing and optimizing the firm’s ISRM Program
  • Assist the Technology Risk Officer in managing the regulatory and audit management functions
  • Apply robust program management skills and partner with the leadership team to design, build and operate large scale enterprise programs interfacing with stakeholders across one or more risk management disciplines including enterprise risk, operational risk, risk governance, compliance and technology risk
  • Prepare, compile and present ad-hoc and periodic senior executive reporting regarding the ISRM program
  • Prepare and deliver executive presentations to auditors, regulators, and senior executive management regarding issues, analysis and findings pertinent to the ISRM program
  • Set, manage, monitor and control the department’s operational expenses, headcount projections and budgets
  • Monitor and communicate emerging trends, developments, and best practices affecting Information Security Risk management, which may include benchmarking with industry groups and regulatory expectations/guidance
  • Craft and deliver messages to executives, auditors, regulators and staff regarding key initiatives, plans, results and issues
  • Support departmental talent acquisition, management and development
  • Set and orchestrate the department’s annual training needs and plans
  • Interface with business partners in HR to facilitate performance management, goal setting and performance reviews for staff
  • Interface with peers and other departmental leaders to optimize roles and responsibilities to better align with organizational goals
  • Interface with business partners in Finance, Recruiting, and PMO, Accounting to accomplish effective budget and expense management, actuals/plan reviews while researching variations and root causes
  • Interface with peers and other departmental leaders to facilitate the preparation and ongoing management of the departmental budget
  • Apply relationship and stakeholder management skills to improve alignment, priority conflict resolution and resource management.
  • Evaluate ISRM's adherence to approved guidance and formulate corrective action, when applicable
  • Provide assurance to the Technology Officer and executive management that the ISRM Department processes are consistent with standards
  • Ensure the integrity of reporting methods and data used in ISRM
  • Manage special projects, including requests from regulatory and other outside audit/examination parties

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of combined experience in program management, Financial Services and risk management
  • Ability to orchestrate multiple IT initiatives simultaneously while partnering with multiple internal/external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
  • Strong project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross functional projects
  • Experience managing a large budget in excess of $1M
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
  • Ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management tools
  • Ability to execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
  • Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent presentation and reporting skills to executive level audiences
  • Experience supervising direct reports
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical team members in a team environment
