The Cash and Stock Solutions technology team at Schwab is recruiting to hire a driven, results-oriented software application engineer who shares our passion for technology, innovation and excellence. We are in the midst of re-architecting and rebuilding our core enterprise software platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business. The technical engineer will be a hands-on developer that excels in a dynamic, fast-moving, and agile environment and is passionate about developing high quality, high performance, and scalable software. The successful candidate will be responsible for individual coding contributions in addition to collaboration with team members from multiple geographic locations to deliver high quality software. The candidate will work aside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the overall software development lifecycle and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases.
What you’ll do:
•Design, develop and delivery highly scalable and reliable RESTful Web Services and Web API on a multi-tier application architecture using .Net
•Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test driven development to achieve software quality standards
•Support integration efforts to build whole systems from various subsystems
•Prototype, validate and create specific application solutions for the business
•Assist Scrum Master in resolving needs and roadblocks identified by team members
•Support and maintain the company’s existing production software solutions and core technologies
What you have:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
•5+ years of experience successfully developing applications using Microsoft technologies like WCF, ASP.NET, REST
•2+ years of experience in building REST services ASP.NET Web API
•Experience in the following: Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, WCF, Web API, .NET Framework, Web Services, REST, JSON, SOAP, LINQ
•Strong knowledge of web architecture/design and web best practices
•Demonstrated strong ability to interpret requirements and design solutions to fit those requirements
•Strong communication and problem-solving skills
•Ability to interact successfully with business partners and technology teams
•Demonstrated knowledge of design patterns and when to apply them
•Ability to handle concurrent projects while working independently and in teams
•Working knowledge or familiarity with Agile methodologies
•Familiarity with financial industry
