Our Opportunity:

The Treasury Capital Markets group within Corporate Treasury manages fixed-income investments in several portfolios totaling over $150 billion in assets primarily for the benefit of Charles Schwab Corporation, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., and Charles Schwab Bank.

As a member of the Treasury Capital Markets group, you will play a key role in supporting and executing trades in various fixed-income instruments while seeking to optimize portfolio returns within the corporate policy, risk, and regulatory framework. Active sectors for this position currently include Rates, Agency and Private-Label CMBS, and Municipal securities. You will also provide backup to other portfolio managers and traders in Corporates, Agency MBS, ABS, and money markets. Furthermore, you will be responsible for monitoring trade settlements and performing trade entry.

What you’ll do:

  • Trade execution support as directed by traders and portfolio managers
  • Monitor trade settlements after input into trade inventory system and/or trade blotter
  • Screen dealer inventories for appropriate investment opportunities
  • Manage physical and electronic records of daily trade activity
  • Update market levels on internal presentations and trading dashboards
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements and audit efforts

What you have:

  • A knowledge of fixed income capital markets
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience in trading, investing, and securities operations preferably in a trading desk environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and other investment software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and management skill with the ability to build cross-organizational relationships
  • Ability to negotiate trade executions
