The Opportunity:

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Information Technology, the Vice President of Sales and Service Technology will lead the team responsible for technology solutions covering the CRM, internal service applications and front-office voice technology including all call-center technology. The VP will lead a team of 250 full-time and consultant resources to provide leadership, vision, strategy and direction to the global technology teams who support the company and all sales & service solutions. Ultimately, this individual will drive the transformation of the technology, including leading large-scale implementation efforts. Additional responsibilities include:

 

  • Oversight of transformation program to evolve platforms across the organization and continue to centralize and standardize the quality of service and caliber of systems provided to the business and functions across the group, globally.
  • Ensuring the most effective structures are in place to enable synergies to be identified at a Group level leading to greater efficiencies and higher levels of performance in technology.
  • Driving innovation cross-organizationally throughout the Schwab Technology Services organization by articulating a technical vision and multi-year technical roadmap(s).
  • Defining the overall vision for the CRM & Voice Solutions group based on understanding the needs of users, key business drivers and the industry and technology landscape.
  • Oversight of key development teams supporting Voice and CRM Solutions Development and Quality Assurance while partnering with key VP and SVP partners across these functional areas to develop new products and services as well as enhance and maintain existing platforms.
  • Leading the platforms providing CRM sales and service capabilities for all Retail Financial Consultants (FCs), Advisor Services and their supporting partners (Siebel to Salesforce); CRM capabilities for multiple business-to-business divisions (using Salesforce instances).
  • Providing influence and direction to executive leadership, officer, management and staff-level employees; Influencing and leading partners and stakeholders ranging from the CS&S organization, the field organizations to Legal and Compliance.
  • Managing a significant, annual FOEX budget, as well as capital project budgets.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of 10 years exposed to technology related projects and initiatives within large enterprises.  Deep technical experience in systems support with at least five years senior management experience.
  • Results oriented leader who takes initiative and effectively distills strategy, analytics, and varied sets of input to drive to decisions and follow through to execution.
  • Exposure working with IS/AS Salesforce for Sales and Service and Digital Workplace transformation driving Agile and DevOps.
  • Displays confidence and courage in business and talent decisions, actions and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed, including championing ideas, position or dissent.
  • Deep competencies involving coverage across development, QA, support, Audit, Vendor Management and Financial Management arenas.
  • Leverage strategic and analytical capabilities to make sound, timely decisions based on client and field input supporting and maintaining a strong production environment including evaluating risk versus expense versus the client experience.
  • Strong business influence skills with the ability to shape, define, and present a complete and thorough picture of Schwab’s product and platform environment including the development of thoughtfully-written action plans and clear/regular communication to executive management.
  • Able to act decisively in making solid, informed judgment calls in response to both the technological and critical regulatory environment and the day-to-day business issues.
  • Extremely strong client relationship management and negotiation skills required with the ability to assess and effectively communicate processing capabilities and identify alternative solutions for clients and business partners.
  • A customer-centric innovator who will challenge the status quo to champion our clients’ goals and meet their needs, above and beyond their expectations.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Highly collaborative; navigates and activates alignment across organizational silos as well as the enterprise as a whole.
  • Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence.
  • Experienced in effectively assessing, selecting and developing talent for the firm; adept at providing balanced, direct and actionable feedback to employees. Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied strengths.
  • Thrives on initiating, building and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group; highly collaborative; navigates and activates alignment across organizational silos.
  • An undergraduate degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.
