Our Opportunity:

Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. has an open position for a Staff, Lead Software Applications Engineer in Austin, Texas.

What you’ll do:

Analyze, design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, documentation and deployment of Mobile Middleware application built on Microsoft ASP.NET technologies. Ensure the delivery of data via web services hosted on the Mobile Middleware application. Deliver advancements in Web API and RESTful architecture for the IOS and Android native applications. Contribute to a TDD (Test Driven Development) methodology of delivering deliverables in a shorter period. Develop the Javascript to Native Bridge to enable communication with the IOS and Android native applications. Enhance hybrid mobile application features based on new business requirements. Design and develop Micro UI components and Micro Services into sharable features. Manage and convert the Javascript output to all necessary platforms. Ensure systems are stable, reliable, and perform to the highest standards. Contribute to performance analysis; improve the security of the platform, and overall improvement of user experience. Assist in leading the development Scrum team on technical execution. Participate in the quality analysis process to reduce the incidence of errors in the mobile applications. Mentor new team members.

 What you have:

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Engineering in Computer Science, or related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related web application development field. 

Experience and/or education must include:

  1. Develop Mobile middleware applications with Microsoft .NET technology using C# on the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE;
  2. Object oriented programming concepts including design and analysis;
  3. Microsoft ASP.NET web technology including: MVC design pattern architecture, WCF, and Web API2 frameworks;
  4. Mobile Hybrid Application development using Javascript Angular stack for designing an ease of use presentation layer;
  5. RESTful API design for delivery of financial data to mobile devices through web services hosted on Microsoft IIS version 7.0;
  6. Web services delivering data in multiple formats including XML, JSON, text;
  7. NET features including Multi-Threading, Functional programming, Asynchronous programming, Anonymous methods, and LINQ;
  8. MongoDB and TDD (Test Driven Development) techniques, JS, HTML5, and CSS;
  9. Writing Unit tests using frameworks including: Visual Studio Unit Testing Framework, NUnit, and Jasmine;
  10. Waterfall, RUP and Agile methodologies of software development and recent assignments in an Agile (Scrum based) working environment; and
  11. Creating intuitive presentation layer for native applications targeting  iOS and Android mobile devices.
