Our Opportunity:

Charles Schwab Bank Trust Services (Schwab Bank) provides trust and custody services for qualified retirement plans, primarily 401(k) plans.  Schwab Bank serves Schwab’s bundled retirement product, and is the industry leader in providing trading and custody services through Independent Record Keepers.  Our goal is to provide excellent service in a rapidly growing business.

What you’ll do:

  • Support standardizing procedures and processes for new products and regulatory/technology changes
  • Establish meaningful, productive relationships with internal business partners (Sales, Legal, Operations), as well as our third party administrators/independent record keeper and Advisor clients
  • Work independently to oversee audits (internal and external), business reporting, and create presentations for technology prioritization cases
  • Learn and understand systematic connections between the bank, related Schwab entities, and external clients
  • Educate clients and internal staff on operational flows related to file transmissions and how the interact with Schwab systems
  • Communicate with clients during onboarding to ensure technology feeds are in proper order and ongoing for new enhancements and products
  • Partner with Schwab technology team to troubleshoot issues as they arise and set up Secure File Transfer Protocol
  • Testing (User Acceptance) of files and new products both internal and external with clients
  • Proactively working with clients to uncover additional system development opportunities
  • Working with clients to define requirements and coordinate development of new reports or file types
  • Work with advisor/recordkeeping vendors such as Schwab Retirement Technologies, Relius, Omni, Schwab Performance Technologies, Advent, Orion, and others to implement new file types or technology
  • Influence peers and business partners to be highly engaged
  • Assist with escalations in the day to day

What you have:

  • 6 + technical experience with recordkeeping, portfolio management, and trust accounting systems
  • 6 + years combination of client services, conversions, and transition services experience within financial services industry
  • Product and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task among competing priorities and to work independently to meet deadlines within a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Previous experience with Schwab Retirement Technologies, Relius, Omni, Schwab Performance Technologies, Advent, Orion, or related systems to implement new file types or technology
  • Strong self-discipline to work independently and actively seek issues to address
  • Produce high quality of work that adheres to all standards including regulatory and audit requirements
  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively within a team environment
  • Excel in prioritizing daily functions and dealing with multiple deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented with strong analytic, research, and communication skills
  • Must possess advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • College degree preferred
