Our Opportunity:

The Stress Testing team falls under the Market and Investment Risk (MIR) department under the broader Corporate Risk Management (CRM) organization. The team’s primary function is to support company-wide capital stress testing efforts by employing both externally/internally-developed quantitative models to estimate the variability of losses and revenues under a wide range of macroeconomic and idiosyncratic scenarios.

In this individual contributor role, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of liquidity risk and/or Asset Liability Management (ALM) practices to support the ongoing development and maintenance of our risk reporting structure. In addition to overseeing the quality and performance monitoring of various liquidity risk models and metrics, you will have opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of the internal controls framework while partnering with Liquidity, Market, Capital, and Credit Risk Management teams across the firm.

What you’ll do:

  • Enhance and maintain liquidity risk monitoring framework in the “second line of defense” capacity
  • Work closely with the Interest Rate Risk (IRR) team on leveraging ALM modeling capabilities for conducting liquidity stress testing
  • Interact with Treasury to obtain, understand, analyze and draw conclusions with respect to potential funding and liquidity risks
  • Partner with Risk Analytics to challenge underlying assumptions and new liquidity analyses
  • Perform gap assessment against industry standards/regulatory requirements, work cross-functionally to close gaps
  • Participate in development/enhancement of relevant policies and procedures
  • Suggest and implement improvements in risk reporting for senior management and the Board
  • Provide independent review and challenge of regulatory and internal stress scenarios, including liquidity stress assumptions
  • Contribute to the enhancement of MIR internal controls framework
  • Assist with calculation of internal capital adequacy targets Contribute to development of internal macroeconomic scenarios for CST
  • Prepare presentation materials for CST facilitating and governing groups

What you have:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or financial related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in Liquidity or Market risk
  • Working knowledge of SQL, SAS or R
  • 3+ years of advanced Excel experience
  • Strong understanding of liquidity risk and/or Asset & Liability Management practices
  • Strong familiarity with analytical methods and techniques
  • Excellent partnership skills coupled with an ability to challenge assumptions
  • Proficient in using technology to query databases and to prepare documentation for senior management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact cross-functionally
  • Strong process orientation abilities
  • Self-motivated along with the ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines
  • Experience creating presentations for executive audiences preferred
  • Experience with ALM
  • Familiarity with macro-economic concepts preferred
