Our Opportunity:

The Risk Analytics team falls within the Market and Investment Risk function under the broader Corporate Risk Management organization. The team’s primary functions are to provide quantitative research and modeling of market and credit risks, covering a wide range of products including: mortgage loans, home equity lines of credit, margin, deposit and fixed income businesses.

As a Manager, Risk Analytics & Programming, you will create and manage a production-quality quantitative econometric modeling environment  for CCAR-related stress testing purposes. You will play a crucial role in finalizing model delivery and optimization so that models can run in an automated fashion. You will demonstrate proficiency  in web-enabled programming tools (Java, HTML) and scripting languages such as Python. You will also need to display your knowledge of statistics, econometrics and R (statistical package).

What you’ll do:

  • Review and enhance relevant parts of R and Python code that has been developed by other team members to understand the statistical and econometric analyses being done
  • Implement improvements to the code to automate the run process
  • Read and interpret Java and HTML code
  • Help develop model documentation
  • Utilize project management and communication skills to ensure project deliverables are understood and achievable
  • Perform ad-hoc responsibilities, as needed.

What you have:

The Manager Risk Analytics must be knowledgeable about basic statistical/econometric concepts, and be able to use technology to query databases and prepare documentation. You should be familiar with best practices as they relate to software and model development, including source code management, input variable stress analysis and overall model validation techniques.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related area with an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physical Sciences or Engineering that requires use of computational mathematics and/or statistical techniques.
  • 2-5 years of quantitative experience
  • Linux experience
  • Strong analytical and appropriate coding skills necessary to develop and refine codes developed by others
  • Good understanding of statistical packages such as R, Python (SciPy Stack) or Stata
  • Strong technical skills with experience using relational databases
  • Good knowledge of web-enabled data protocols including JSON, JavaScript, HTML5 and similar
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences, including senior management and auditors.
